Coal power plants emit millions of tons of CO2, which fuels global climate change and threatens livelihoods. For technical, health, and economic reasons, coal needs to go first, and in Europe it has to be gone by 2030 if we are to have a hope of limiting warming to 1.5 degrees.
This is how much coal is contributing to greenhouse gas emissions in the EU, and how it relates to other sectors’ contributions.
